Mood Board - Sci-Fi
As you can see, I kept the major elements of Sci-Fi, I used spacecraft, galaxies, black holes, nebulas, asteroids, extraterrestrial life etc. Sci-Fi has a very wide range of topics and I decided to choose space travel. Space travel is depicted in tons of Sci-Fi films, so what makes mine different than the others? In my mood board I wanted the basic elements like space, asteroids, astronauts, spacecraft, but, in order differentiate mine I added an astronaut being separated from the spacecraft and free floating, creepy nebulas, clouds of dust engulfing planets.
Now that I've explained my mood board and why I picked the genre, I can now describe the story. With this mood board, I would like to tell the story of an astronaut who got separated from the ship and had floated through space until the astronaut landed on a small planet. This random planet had craters that were filled with the same atmospheric qualities of the Earth allowing the astronaut one quick breath before all of the air in the crater was sucked up. This astronaut travelled from crater to crater for more air and as the astronaut made its way into the walls of the crater from the rim, something struck the planet causing the astronaut to go flying back into space. The astronaut had filled up some of their oxygen reserves and is back at 50%. The astronaut saw the planet being engulfed in clouds of dust while breaking apart, the dust looked alive, like it was eating the planet alive. The astronaut started to go mad from being alone in space, the astronaut started seeing things like nebulas and stars communicating with the astronaut and the space around them, planets started breathing, asteroids started moving in strange patterns. The astronaut was so frightened that they closed their eyes and was transported back home, thinking that what was happening around was their mind playing tricks on them and opened their eyes again and realized this was happening. The astronaut saw nebulas that looked almost human and they started speaking. The astronaut eventually ran out of oxygen while floating through space and watching this other worldly experience happen. The body of the astronaut was sucked into a black hole.
